Ok, I said I was going to blog at least once a week..... That was in February. This is December. So, roughly 10 months later I'm gonna try to get back at it. We shall see what happens.
To summarize what has happened since February, well....
In March, my niece, Evie turned 3. What a BIG girl she is becoming!
In April, Katie turned 5.
In May, I graduated from Frontier with 2 Associate Degrees and my Certificate in Phlebotomy. Yay me!
Then came August, when Katie started Kindergarten, and lost her first 2 teeth (bottom, front)- within weeks of each other. She can also tie her shoes, read and spell, pour her own drinks, fix her own snack in some cases, and many other simple tasks that mean she is growing up and is no longer my 8lb, 2oz, little girl. My youngest niece, Emmaleigh, also turned 1.
In September, I sat for my ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathologists) Phlebotomy exam. After TONS of studying and flash card making, I PASSED! I am OFFICIALLY Avery Williams, PBT. What a relief that is to have under my belt! I have applied a few places for jobs, but I am still working at McDonald's.
October brought a couple surprises, I won tickets off the radio and took my sister to see "The Price Is Right-LIVE" in Evansville, for her birthday.
November was a whirlwind with my oldest niece, Kassidy turning 4. My brother got to come home for a visit in the middle of the month. We were hoping to see Evie as well. She got sick right before he left to come and he and his wife, Jen, decided it was best for her to stay home with Mom. Jeffrey made an earlier than planned departure. Overall, though, we had a nice visit. Then there's Thanksgiving with Black Friday Shopping (where I spent too much money). Katie spent this Thanksgiving with her Dad, but she gets to wake up with me on Christmas Day! That's the joys of being a divorcee' with a child, I guess.
December, Oh what fun you have been! HA! HA! HA! I am so ready to be done with Christmas shopping and wrapping and preparing and anything and everything in between. I don't understand when nor how something so fun when I was a child became so stressful! AAAAHHHH!!!! RUN HERE, GO THERE, DON'T BE LATE, BE READY, DON'T FORGET A PRESENT FOR YOUR UNCLE MAX'S DOG'S SISTER'S AUNT'S COUSIN!!!!! And the empty bank account that goes along with it all... SO MUCH FUN!
BUT the joy on Katie's face when she opens her surprises make it so worth it!
So, that's my year since February. I'm REALLY going to try to update more often, I PROMISE! We'll see how it goes!
